The 2024 harvest

The 2024 harvest

This year, the harvest began exceptionally early due to the particular climatic conditions we experienced. A mild spring followed by a sunny summer allowed the grapes to reach perfect maturity by the end of August. Our team mobilized quickly to organize this harvest which already promises an exceptional cuvée.

An exceptional year for our terroir

The year 2024 will be remembered as an exceptional year for our estate. The weather conditions were particularly favorable for cultivating our vines. After a relatively mild winter that allowed the soils to rest, spring offered an ideal alternation of moderate rainfall and sunny days.

This combination favored early and homogeneous flowering, followed by perfect fruit set. Summer, for its part, was characterized by hot days and cool nights, thus creating ideal conditions for the development of complex aromas that make our champagnes' reputation.

The harvest process: tradition and precision

Our harvest teams, composed of experienced professionals, worked tirelessly to collect the grapes at the optimal moment of their maturity. Each plot was harvested separately, according to exposure, grape variety and level of grape maturity.

As our tradition dictates, the harvest was done entirely by hand, allowing rigorous selection of the best bunches. This method, although more demanding, guarantees the exceptional quality of our champagnes by avoiding damage to the grapes before their arrival at the press.

"The quality of a great champagne is first determined in the vineyards. This year, nature offered us exceptional conditions that our know-how was able to transform into a promise of excellence."

Jean-Michel Champion, Cellar Master

First impressions and perspectives

The first juices from pressing already reveal remarkable potential. The freshness and balance that characterize these first musts suggest a 2024 cuvée of great finesse, marked by notes of citrus and white fruits, supported by elegant minerality.

Our cellar master closely monitors the first fermentations and is particularly enthusiastic about this year's potential. According to him, the wines from this harvest could give birth to champagnes of exceptional length and complexity, worthy of the greatest years of our house.

An environmentally respectful harvest

Faithful to our commitment to sustainable viticulture, we once again implemented environmentally respectful practices throughout the harvest process. The use of lightweight crates for transporting grapes, valorization of harvest by-products and optimization of our water consumption are among the measures adopted to reduce our environmental impact.

This approach is part of our global sustainable development approach, which also includes reasoned management of our vineyards and the use of renewable energies in our production process.
